John Robb in Conversation at UCC Library

John Robb in Conversation at UCC Library In-Person

We are thrilled to announce that John Robb is returning to UCC Library for another great event! After last year's booked-out appearance, John Robb, author, musician, journalist, and cultural commentator, is back with an all-new spoken word show. This time, John will be taking a trip into the world of alternative rock with his latest talk, Do You Believe In The Power Of Rock & Roll? based on his bestselling book Do You Believe In The Power Of Rock & Roll? Forty years of music writing from the Frontline

The evening will begin with John sharing his wealth of experience from over 40 years on the frontline of the music industry. From his time as the first person to interview Nirvana, to coining the term Britpop, and documenting the rise of the Madchester scene, John’s stories and insights promise to entertain. His talk will include a rich history of alternative rock and anecdotes that bring his journey to life.

But that’s not all. John will also sit down with Cathal MacGabhann, a key figure in the Cork alternative music scene, best known as the singer and guitarist of The Altered Hours and a touring member of Fontaines D.C. Together, they will explore the ever-evolving landscape of alt rock, shining a light on Cathal's unique musical experiences and current projects.

This is a free event, and is open to all, but please note that  spaces are limited, so be sure to register early to secure your spot for what promises to be a great evening of great chat.

Register now and don’t miss out!
