PG6009 - Graduate Information Literacy - Semester 1 2024/2025 (PhD and MRes students) In-Person

This 5-credit module for PhD and MRes students runs across three days on Monday 11th - Wednesday 13th November 2024.

Students from all disciplines are invited to register for the module.

The module goal is to provide postgraduate students with an introduction to Information Literacy and its application to research; to enable students to develop appropriate skillsets and mindsets for interacting with information in a research context, enhancing the quality of their research outputs and expanding their career opportunities in an evolving information landscape (see Book of Modules).

The module will be delivered in-person across all three days, with two sessions per day. Sessions will take place in the Boole Library. The full timetable of sessions and venues for the module will be available via Canvas before the module begins.

Students will need to attend all six sessions to pass the module.

The sessions will take place at the following times:

  • Monday 11th November - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm
  • Tuesday 12th November - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm 
  • Wednesday 13th November - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm 

The assignment will include a short report (1,500 words), which will be marked on a pass/fail basis and due by Wednesday 11th December, 2024.
