Searching Techniques for Systematic Reviews - Part 1 In-Person
Please note this is a two part in person workshop.
A systematic review is a high-level overview of primary research on a particular research question that tries to identify, select, synthesize and appraise all high-quality research evidence relevant to that question in order to answer it. In these sessions we will focus on the structured searching phase of a systematic review. The systematic review is an approach used in a range of disciplines but mainly health, education and social policy (as part of evidence-based policy or practice) and is much more than a literature review because it follows a methodology which means it is 'transparent, rigorous and replicable.'
Librarians will introduce you to the searching phase of a systematic review across 2 sessions.
- In Part 1, we will give instruction and demonstration on how to search information resources systematically.
