PG6009 - Graduate Information Literacy Semester 1 2023/2024 In-Person

This 5-credit module for PhD and MRes students runs across three days on Monday 13th - Wednesday 15th November 2023.

Students from all disciplines are invited to register for the module.

The module aims to introduce research students to the principles and practice of Information Literacy, as applied to postgraduate research; and to enable them to enhance the quality of their research and expand their career opportunities in our knowledge-based economy.

The module will be delivered in-person across all three days, with two sessions per day. Sessions will mainly take place in the Boole Library's Research Skills Teaching Room (Level Q-1). The full timetable of sessions and venues for the module will be available through Canvas before the module begins.

Students will need to attend all six sessions to pass the module.

The sessions will take place at the following times:

Monday 13th November - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm
Tuesday 14th November - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm
Wednesday 15th November - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm 

The assignment will take the form of a short report (1500 words), which will be marked on a pass/fail basis and due by Wednesday 13th December 2023.
