PG6009 - Graduate Information Literacy - Semester 2 - 2025/2026 (PhD and MRes students) In-Person

This 5-credit module for PhD and MRes students runs across three days on Tuesday 17th - Thursday 19th February 2026.

Students from all disciplines are invited to register for the module.

The module aims to introduce research students to the principles and practice of Information Literacy, as applied to postgraduate research; and to enable them to enhance the quality of their research and expand their career opportunities in our knowledge-based economy.

The module will be delivered in-person across all three days, with two sessions per day. Sessions will take place in the Creative Zone in the Boole Library. The full timetable of sessions and venues for the module will be available via Canvas before the module begins.

Students will need to attend all six sessions to pass the module.

The sessions will take place at the following times:

  • Tuesday 17th February - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm
  • Wednesday 18th February - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm 
  • Thursday 19th February - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm 

The assignment will include a short report (1500 words), which will be marked on a pass/fail basis and due by Thursday 5th March 2026.
