Advanced searching techniques for systematic reviews [Brookfield 2.25] In-Person
***PLEASE NOTE: THIS SESSION WILL TAKE PLACE IN BROOKFIELD HEALTH SCIENCES ROOM 2.25***
This workshop is designed to equip researchers involved in systematic reviews with advanced skills in searching techniques to ensure a systematic search of the literature is undertaken for their evidence synthesis project. A systematic search is an essential component of a successful systematic review.
Along with instruction and demonstration from librarians, participants will engage in practical exercises and group discussions to enhance their understanding of searching techniques.
This class will cover :
- Undertaking scoping searches
- Developing a search strategy using Boolean operators
- Documenting and reporting a systematic search strategy
- Using search filters / hedges
- Translating a search strategy across different databases
- Testing a search strategy
- Supplementary searches including citation searching
