PG6009 - SEFS and College of Medicine and Health In-Person

This 5 credit module for PhD and MRes students in Science, Engineering and Food Science or the College of Medicine & Health takes place on Tuesday 7th - Thursday 9th February 2023.

Please do not register if you are based in CACSSS or in Business & Law.

The aims of the module are to give postgraduate students an introduction to the principles and practice of Information Literacy, as applied to postgraduate research; and to enable postgraduate students to audit, update and develop their Information Literacy skills, which will enhance the quality of their research and expand their career opportunities in our knowledge-based economy.

The module will be delivered in-person across all three days, with two sessions per day. All sessions will take place in the Boole Library's Research Skills Teaching Room. The timetable for the six sessions will be available through Canvas before the module begins.

Students will need to attend all of the six sessions in order to pass the module.

The sessions will take place at the following times:

Tuesday 7th February - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm
Wednesday 8th February - 10:30am-1pm 2pm-4.30pm
Thursday 9th February - 10:30am-1pm & 2pm-4.30pm 

The assignment will take the form of a short report (1500 words), which will be marked on a pass/fail basis and due by Thursday 9th March 2023.
