Curators Tour of the 1916 Proclamation Exhibition - Lifelong Learning Festival 2026 In-Person
The 1916 Proclamation of the Irish Republic is the foundation document of modern Irish nationhood. It is perhaps the single most important and most iconic document in the context of modern Irish History. To mark the 110th anniversary of the printing of Ireland’s 1916 Proclamation, join exhibition curators for a behind-the scenes tour and discover events leading to the printing, difficulties the printers had and how UCC Library bring the Proclamation to life. Learn from UCC Library’s Conservator how we care for our collections - visit our table filled with equipment and brushes, glues, Japanese papers. People are welcome to touch items, ask questions, try dirt and dust removal etc.
Cork University Foundation has generously provided support for this exhibition through private philanthropy.
