Advanced Searching Techniques for Systematic Reviews (In-person) In-Person

This workshop is designed to equip researchers involved in systematic reviews with advanced skills in searching techniques to ensure a systematic search of the literature is undertaken for their evidence synthesis project. A systematic search is an essential component of a successful systematic review.

Along with instruction and demonstration from librarians, participants will engage in practical exercises and group discussions to enhance their understanding of searching techniques.

Participants will need access to a laptop during the session. You are welcome to bring your own device; or we have a number of them available to borrow from the RSTR. Note: If you bring your own, please ensure that you connect it to the 'eduroam' Wi-Fi network before the session.

This class will cover :

  • Developing a search strategy using Boolean operators
  • Documenting and reporting a systematic search strategy
  • Using search filters / hedges
