Basic data entry and validation strategies for students - Some of my best friends use Excel In-Person
Good project and data management practices underlie good research. Poor data structures, organisation and documentation make this vital resource ‘re-useless’. In this session attendees will be provided with examples of the hidden dangers of using Microsoft Excel for data collection and collation. Attendees will also be provided with simple solutions to overcome the issues presented.
Here we will focus on three main themes:
1. The dangers of accepting default settings
2. A simple guide to creating ‘tidy’ data sets
3. Project organisation to help your future-selves
